Daniel L. Silverwood, 66, of Sioux Falls passed away at Orchard Villa Skilled Nursing Home on Friday, August 22, 2014. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on July 19, 1948 to William and Shirley (Simon) Silverwood. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Daniel worked as a Floor Supervisor for Ford Motor Company, Maumee Stamping Plant for 30 years until he retired 1-2007. Both he and his wife were full time R.V. travelers and volunteered teaching youth water safety with the U.S. Corps of Engineers. He also enjoyed fishing and found peace in painting with watercolors.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen Silverwood; son Brian Silverwood; grandson, Nikolai Silverwood; step-children, Eric and Patrick; 2 step-grandchildren; siblings, Glen Silverwood, Kayleen Silverwood, Alan Walker, Vicki Gensel and Dale Gensel, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are being handled by the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, OH. A memorial service will take place at Hope Ministries of Toledo, 525 S Coy Rd., Oregon, OH on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
