Dallas E. Layman

Dallas Eugene Layman, age 71, of Toledo, OH, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Campus with his family by his side on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born in Toledo, OH to Verna Jr. and Dorothea (Gilman) Layman on October 26, 1952. After high school, Dallas enlisted in the US Army where he served in Germany with the surface to air missile units. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman Badge. He worked for many years as a tool and die maker. Dallas enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Ottawa County Conservation League. He was dedicated to his family and his faith and was an active member at The Rock Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Brenda; his children, Angela (Michael) Wilson, and Joseph Layman; his grandchildren, Riley Wilson, and Sebastian Layman; his sister, Loretta Layman; his mother, Dorothea Layman; his sister-in-law, Sharon Curtis; and his best friend, Tom Magrum. He was preceded in death by his father, Verna; and his brother, Darrell Layman.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at The Rock, 4058 Starr Ave., Oregon, OH where the family will greet guests after 9:30 a.m.  Dallas will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
