Cynthia South, 65, of Toledo, OH passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Orchard Villa in Oregon. She was born in Cedartown, GA on November 9, 1950 to Louie and Caron (Shaw) Barber. Affectionately known as “Sis”, she worked as a housekeeper for many hotels. In her spare time, Sis enjoyed treasure hunting at flea markets and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne Barber. She is survived by her son, Robert “Wayne” (Nikki Sebring) Barber; granddaughter, Brittney Barber; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Barber (Bette) and husband, Robert South. The family wishes to thank her special niece, Tina for her companionship and also a special thank you to Nikki for seeing her through her journey.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice.
