Charles "Tom" Thomas Mckinney

Charles Thomas “Tom” McKinney, age 67, of Northwood, passed away December 30, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on March 10, 1953 to William Thomas and Doris (Stacey) McKinney in Ashland, Kentucky. He graduated from Paul Blazer High School in Ashland in 1971. Tom went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute in 1975. He married the love of his life, Teresa “Teri,” in 1975 and together they were married for 45 loving and faithful years. Tom served honorably in the United States Marine Corps as 1st Lieutenant during the Vietnam War.  He was employed for 42 years as an electrical engineer.  He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Oregon. Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Teresa “Teri”; children Thomas and Geoff McKinney; mother, Doris McKinney; and brother David (Kathy) McKinney. He is preceded in death by his father William McKinney.

Family and friends may gather at Freck Funeral Chapel , 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, OH on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to The Gardens of St. Francis.
