Charles "Chuck" Prater, Sr.

Charles Edward Prater, 70, of Walbridge, OH, passed away, Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was born May 5, 1951 in Toledo, OH to White and Irene (Etts) Prater. He was employed for many years for Libbey Glass and retired after 26 years as a fork lift operator. He was a deeply spiritual and outgoing person. Chuck enjoyed fishing, country music, and anything spicy. Most of all he loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Chuck leaves behind his wife, Janet; his children, Chris Prater, Patricia (Naugle) Bosh, Charles Prater, Jr, Justin Forche, and Timothy Prater, Sr.;  his step-children, Wendy Padgett, Betty Padgett, Carl Padgett, and Jennifer Horvath;  his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his father, White (June) Prater; his siblings, Michael (Jewell) Prater, David (Twila) Prater, Lois (David) Allen, Dennis (Roxanne McDaniel) Prater Sr., and Carolyn (Robbie) Steel;  He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene; and his brothers, Johnny Ray Prater,  White Benjamin Prater and Gary Brower.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Chuck will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
