Charles P. Tracy, Jr.

March 16, 1945 — August 28, 2016

Charles Tracy played his final round of golf on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on S. Detroit, succumbing to a yearlong battle with colon cancer and renal failure. He was born March 16, 1945 in Toledo and was a 1964 graduate of Clay High School. Chuck honorably served our country in the U.S.  Air Force during Vietnam. He began his career with Ohio Bell working as an installation and repairman retiring from AT&T after over 25 years of service.

Chuck loved to golf and was active for 25 years in the “Pull Tab” Indiana golf outing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, baseball card collector and played in the East Toledo Senior softball league for 20 years. He co-founded the 5th and 6th grade Football league with George Stuller at the former Allen Elementary School in the Genoa School District.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda; sons, Daniel (Cindy) and Ty (Sue); grandchildren, Tristan and Marissa and sister, Trudy (Keith) Schroeder. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Tillie; brother, Danny Tracy and nephew, Keith Schroeder, II.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.   Burial will remain private.    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Hospice of NW Ohio and the Allen-Genoa Joint Volunteer EMS. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Richard Phinney, the nursing staff of the Oncology Unit at the Toledo Clinic and the nursing staff at Maumee Bay DeVita in Oregon.
