Charles R. Racz

November 2, 1931 — December 25, 2015

Charles R. Racz, 84, of Oregon, OH passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 in the comfort of his home.  He was born in Toledo, OH on November 2, 1931 to Charles and Margaret (Soltesz) Racz. Charles graduated from Central Catholic High School and after a short time in college he went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Charles worked as a Quality Control Technician for several places in his life, most recently for Martin Marietta until retiring. He was a member of Christ Dunberger American Legion Post #537. Charles loved his yard, fishing, swimming, light houses and playing the accordion. Above all his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret; grandchildren, Michael and Kori Ann and brother, Joe Racz.  He is survived by his soul mate of 60 years, Carmela Racz; children, Gary (Tina) Racz, Debora (Toby) Evers and Gina (Tony) Resendez; grandchildren, Maria, Gary Jr., Kevin, Steven, Joshua, Nathan, Anthony and Brandon; 7 great-grandchildren and  brothers, John (Fran), and Edward Racz; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was very much loved and is truly missed.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. in Oregon on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. that evening.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 11 a.m. where his family will greet guests one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
