Charles Hallowell, 84, of Curtice, Ohio, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Lutheran Home of Toledo.
Charles was born on August 24, 1930, in Chesterhill, Ohio, to Dennis and Iva McElfresh Hallowell. Charles was a combat veteran of the Korean War, having served from May 1951 to February 1953. Charles was a 46-year-employee of Buckeye Pipeline, retiring in 1995.
Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret “Peggy” Deal Hallowell, and five children: Christy (Terrance) Georgeson of Toledo; C. Mark Hallowell of Bowling Green; Craig (Kathy) Hallowell of Macungie, PA; Angela (Mark) Wood of Columbia, MD; and Blake (Cindy) Hallowell of Curtice, OH; seven grandchildren: Sarah Georgeson Clark, Kelly Georgeson, Matthew Georgeson, Adam Hallowell, Logan Hallowell, Karen Wood, Ellie Wood; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandsons; two sisters, Norma Rumberger of Navarre, and Elma Lou (David) Stirgwolt of Chesterhill; three brothers: Glenn (Barbara) Hallowell of Norwich; Dale (Julia) Hallowell of Linwood, MI; Keith (Paula) Hallowell of Norwich; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Benjamin and Dolores Strode.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, on Friday from 10-1 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
