Charles Ray Fletcher “Butch” age 78 of Oregon, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday January 27, 2024. Butch was born to Edward Lee and Kathleen Charlotte (Arter) Fletcher in Toledo, Ohio on September 23, 1945. Butch served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was a Journeyman Ironworker with the Local 55. To Butch, his family was the most important thing in his life. Butch always supported his family first in everything. He loved sunny days and hated the snow and cold. The Bayshore Supper Club was his favorite place to spend time. He loved his animals, fishing, and was quite the pool shark.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 56 years married February 2, 1968, Kathy; children Robert (Diana) Fletcher, Will (Jessica) Fletcher, Scott (Kelly) Fletcher, Susie (Tom) Mitchell, Laurie (Jesse) Musgrove, Laura Fletcher and Rick Fletcher; grandchildren Charles, Haylie, Robby Jr., Kelsey, Majesta, Jason, Alex, Nicholas, Ashley, Kyle, Broc, Trace, Mary (Evan), JJ (Lucy), Devin, and Cassidy; sister Cathy Jo Nordstrom, brother-in-law Ken (Darlene) Prottengeier; sisters-in-law Karen (Dave) Reynolds and Katy (Dan) Brown; best friend Scott Ruby and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Allen, Judy Fletcher, sisters-in-law Karol Henderson and Kris Prottengeier, and grandbabies in heaven Caroline, Daniel, and Jacob.
A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon Ohio on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 3 until 5 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at Bayside Boardwalk. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Butch’s wife Kathy.
