Celia Guerra

Celia Guerra, age 95, of Toledo, Ohio passed away at her home on Monday, January 13, 2025. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on October 24, 1929, to Felix and Petra (Rojas) Contreras. Celia worked in the Dietary Department at Little Sisters of the Poor for many years before retiring. She loved gardening, playing bingo, and cooking for her guests and family. She also enjoyed knitting blankets for her family and eating her favorite snack; candy. Celia loved her family and the most important thing to her was raising and taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Juan (Elizabeth), Patricia, and Jose (Norma); stepchildren, Petra, Albert, and Frank; grandchildren, Calixtro, Ronnie, Jessica, Danielle, Justin, Leticia, and Alicia; great-grandchildren, Carlee, Andrew, Izaiah, Dominic, Carson, Celia, Celio, Clayton, Ayeli; great-great-granddaughter, Mari; and many more great and great-great-grandchildren;  her brother, Jose, and fur baby, Bonita. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calixtro Guerra; stepson, Antonio; and sisters, Cata and Josephine. 

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 2-8:00 p.m. where recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held in La Feria, Texas.
