Catherine E. (Delong) Pfister

Catherine E. Pfister “Cathy” age 68, of Walbridge, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, at Regency Hospital. Cathy was born to Roy and Dorothy (Burgoon) DeLong on May 29, 1954, in Logan, Ohio. She was a 1973 graduate of Waite High School. Cathy was the center of her family who loved to host parties and cook. She loved kids and ran a home-based childcare for many years. Cathy enjoyed crafting and sewing. She could be found gardening outside or watching birds. Cathy was a life-long Nazarene and member of Hope Community Church. In her early years, she was very active at church teaching Sunday School, VBS, and Caravan.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 48 years John Pfister Jr.; daughters Amanda Malecki and Melissa Pfister; granddaughter Chantel (Aidan Van Dyk) Parrish; and brother Timothy (Kay) DeLong. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Christopher Malecki, and half-brothers Robert and Vernon DeLong.

A visitation will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 2 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the family.
