CAROL SUE “SUSIE” COUSINO
Carol S. “Susie” Cousino, 72, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on August 4, 1942 to Robert and Ida (Deal) Nelson and was a 1960 graduate of Clay High School. Susie loved to bake and in her younger years, worked as a cake decorator with Beyers Bakery in East Toledo. She was a Sales Associate for Lion Store and retired with Dillards as a Department Manager after 25 years of service.
She had a passion for life: from dancing, bird watching, card parties with friends, and travelling. She cherished the time spent with her husband Ray and friends on various quick day trips, weekend getaways, the New Years Eve celebration in New York City and the Alaskan Cruise. Susie also loved to entertain. Spending time with friends and family was one of her greatest joys in life whether it was hosting family dinners or attending monthly luncheons with her cousins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Raymond C. Cousino, Sr.; brother, Dennis Nelson; son, Raymond (Lisa) Cousino, Jr.; daughter, Sheryl (David) Pitsenbarger; grandchildren, Raymond Cousino III, Jonathon Kochensparger, Jennifer Luginbuhl, Robert Cousino, Lucas Pitsenbarger and Tyler Pitsenbarger and 6 great-grandchildren. Susie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Ida and Bob Nelson and brothers, Louie and Melvin Parker.
A memorial gathering will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Freck Funeral Chapel where services will begin at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at Toledo Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
