Carlos Armando Mares, age 21, passed away at Toledo Hospital on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Carlos graduated from Rogers High School and worked in construction. He loved spending time with his children and family. He was a very outspoken, giving, and thoughtful person. Basketball was his favorite sport. Carlos gave the gift of life by being an organ and tissue donor.

Carlos is survived by his children Kaiden, Kehlani Jan’Ellen, and Amiyah Raquel Mares; mother and father Belinda and Carl Johnson; biological father Joey Mares; grandfather Edilberto Gonzales; grandmother Stella (Ray) Miller; siblings Ricardo (Victoria) Gonzales, James III, Janayea’, Jameson and Johntay Turnbull; Carl Jr., Maxamilian and Miles Johnson; nieces Mariana and Analicia Gonzales; aunts and uncles Genoveva (Eric) Beaver, Francisca (Rudy) Bailey, Edilberto Gonzales Jr., Andrea (Todd) Cromer, great-uncle Hector (Esperanza) Munoz; cousins Guadalupe Bailey, Brandon Beaver, Kelsey Perry, Kendall Beaver, Andrea Cole, Juan Munoz, Hector Munoz Jr., and many other loving cousins and family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Michiela Gonzales; great-grandparents Guadalupe and Johnny Ruiz, Marylou and Ray Perales, Genoveva and Juan Munoz and cousin Rudy Gonzales.
