On Sunday, December 13, 2015, Carl “Jeep” Clark, loving father, husband and friend passed away peacefully. By his side was his devoted daughter and dear friends and in his heart was his wife, Linda. He was born on March 27, 1935 in Toledo, OH, and the son of the late Frank and Delores Clark. He went to Waite High School and was proud to be from the “Eastside” of Toledo. Jeep worked many years in the automotive industry prior to obtaining a job at Libbey Owens Ford where he worked for 35 years. Jeep was very proud to retire at the age of 52 and enjoyed every day of retirement.

He enjoyed his cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and snowmobiling on the lake and along the pipelines. Also in his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique furniture; being outside and working in his yard; driving trips with his wife, Linda; watching college football (especially Ohio State), bird watching and feeding his squirrels in his backyard. He loved telling stories about the old days with his friends and family and visiting his daughter many times in Chicago and touring the “Big City”.

He was preceded in death by 9 siblings: brothers, Dale, Robert “Bob”, Roger “Gene”, Paul, Howie and sisters, Janie, Marianne, Sherry and Delores “Betty”. Jeep was also preceded by his little best friend Tony (dog) and his two best friends Clyde “Red” Alexander and Steve “Skip” Vancena. He leaves to cherish his memory his only child Marcia; his loving wife, Linda of 25 years; step-son, Greg (Ann); dear friend and like a son to him, John Alexander; his special nephew, Robbie Clark and his goddaughter, Michele Clark along with other nieces, nephews and friends throughout his life.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 12-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 11 a.m.   Burial will follow at Lake Twp Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations of Teddy Bears in Jeep’s memory to the children of crisis in Lucas County by contacting the Lucas County Sheriff’s office at 419-213-4926.  Jeep donated for years and would be honored to have this tradition continued.
