Calvin L. Sherman

Calvin L. Sherman, age 82, of Holland, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at home surrounded by family.  He was born on June 26, 1941 in Oregon, Ohio to Jim and Edith Sherman.  Calvin was a 1959 graduate of Clay High School.  He worked as a conductor for CSX Railroad, retiring after 41 years of service.  Calvin enjoyed reading, especially the National Geographic magazines.  He was often found watching MSNBC news and yelling at the tv.  He will be dearly missed.

Calvin is survived by his children, Tammy Martin, and James (Dolores) Sherman; grandchildren, Robert Ogle, Amanda Boyd, Alexandria Martin, Jessica (Cliff) Dillion, Tyler (Maria) Sherman, and Justin (Brooke) Sherman; and several great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth; and siblings, Harold, Clayton, Edwin, Violet, and Ruth.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 2-8:00 p.m. where services will be held at 6:00 p.m.
