Buddy L. Tanner

July 14, 1929 — January 19, 2018

Buddy L. Tanner, age 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.  He was born on July 14, 1929 in Clyde, Ohio to Mildred (Smith) and Clifford Tanner.  Buddy was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School.  He served as a machinist First Class in the Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea and spoke often of his Navy experiences.  Buddy was a long time member of First St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oregon.

He met his loving wife, Anita Tanner (Lange) as a Tony’s Breadman and enjoyed 59 years of marriage.  They enjoyed retirement together for many years escaping the Ohio winters in Florida.  Buddy’s passion was building and flying radio control airplanes and was a life time member of the Toledo Weak Signals airplane club.  He and his wife enjoyed the hobby and traveled all across the county meeting many friends along the way.  He is now flying in Heaven with his many friends and spouse.

Surviving are his son, David (Robin) Tanner; daughter, Anna Hable; brother, Gary (Leah) Tanner; grandchildren:  Angelo, Mela, Tivurcio, Holly, Robert, Tiffany, Austen and Kirsten and 9 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita; brother, Lynn Tanner and daughter, Bonnie Owens.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10-1 p.m. where services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to First St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
