Brandon James Owens

Brandon James Owens age 40 passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Brandon was born to Jimmie and Kaye (McGuire) Owens on April 3, 1981, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Brandon was a 1999 graduate of Zane Trace High School and a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned his Bachelors degree in Communication. Through the years Brandon has worked for BP in various roles including a member of the environmental team, supervisor, and most recently an operator.

Brandon was a wonderful father and his kids were his world.  He did everything possible to never miss a dance competition, soccer game, or band concert.  He could often be caught attending a tea party or building legos.  He loved torturing his kids with his " dad jokes" and love of crocs.  When not spending time with his kids, he loved watching Ohio State football and Nascar, or going fishing.

Brandon is survived by his four beautiful children Keira, Cameron, Brooklyn, and Brielle; the mother of his children Melissa Owens; his mother Kaye Owens; sister Lisa (Michael) Owens-Heckler; nephew Jacob Rutherford; and his beloved pets Apollo and Jebby. Brandon was preceded in death by his father Jimmie Owens.

Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 2 until 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the family for a trust that will be set up for his children’s college funds.

Brandon believed it was always 5 o'clock somewhere and didn't believe in typical funeral traditions and wanted a party Jimmy Buffet style.  Be a parrot head for the day and come celebrate Brandon by wearing island attire.  He would also approve of Ohio State apparel.
