Billy R. Shepherd, 65, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Kinston, NC to Everett and Beatrice (Kinsey) Shepherd and honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart and was awarded Marksman M-14 Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Army Commendation Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Shepherd; stepsons, Robert Mullens and Joseph Marlow; brothers, Evert (Deborah) Shepherd and Bobby Ray Shepherd; stepmother, Venona Shepherd and stepsiblings, Fred, Brian and Michael Johnson, Pattie Landis, Linda Shepherd Meadows, Cheryl Shepherd Canter, Sharon (Kevin) Shepherd Jagielski, Dawn Shepherd and April (Mike) Shepherd Bittle. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Beatrice.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Friday with the Funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
