Betty (Vincent) Ball

February 9, 1931 — May 22, 2021

Betty Ball, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo Center surrounded by her daughters.  She was born on February 9, 1931 in Oregon, Ohio to Patrick and Bernice (Nopper) Vincent.  Betty was a 1949 graduate of Clay High School.  She married Joseph Ball on April 29, 1950 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.  Betty worked various places over the years before starting her career with the Oregon Municipal Courts as a Bailiff.  Betty eventually became Clerk of Court, retiring May 17, 1983.  She was an avid Detroit Tigers and Toledo Mud Hens fan.  Betty and her husband, Joe wintered in Lakeland, FL to attend spring training games.  She was thrilled to have her photo taken with Al Kaline, her favorite Tigers’ player.  Betty’s passion was her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, and cleaning.  Betty was a member of the Bay Park Hospital Auxiliary.  She will be dearly missed.

Betty is survived by her children, Kathy Varga, Sue (Mike) Smith, and Cindy Vild; grandchildren, Josh, Katy, Chris (Rachel), Andrew (Sarah), Lauren, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Anna, Noah, Tristan (Angelica), Trinity, Teagan, Camden, and Andrew Jr.; great great-grandchildren, Aria, and Brinley; brother, Wayne Vincent; and cousins, Rosie Fredricksen and Bernadine “Berna” Limpf.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph, and brothers, Paul “Buck” Vincent, and Bob “Spike” Vincent.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will start at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and continue with the Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
