BARBARA JANE SAUERWEIN
Barbara J. Sauerwein, 66, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Mercy-St. Vincent’s Medical Center, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born in Toledo, August 24, 1948 to Emil and Beatrice (Hummer) Schwartz and was a 1966 graduate of Cardinal Stritch. She was a faithful member of Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church where she was active for over 20 years every Friday night for Bingo. She enjoyed making arts and crafts but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her loving husband, George E. Sauerwein; children, Joseph (Abbie) Sauerwein, George M. Sauerwein, Jeffery Sauerwein, Brenda McClain, Andrew (Leslie) Sauerwein and Kayla (Shawn) Kimble; son-in-law, Michael Pettaway; grandchildren, Brianna, Jalen, Jordan and Riley Pettaway, Tyler, Taylor, Irene, Sebastian and Jocelyn Sauerwein, Ariana Sauerwein, Anna Sauerwein, Alexis and Haley McClain, Garrett Smith, Sydney Sauerwein and Amelia Kimble; siblings, Helen Sullivan, Pamela Schwartz, JoAnn Nigh, Carol Moffitt, Ramona Duffy, Robert Schwartz and Tom Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammi Pettaway; granddaughter, Dtreow Sauerwein; sister, Linda Bart and brother, Henry Schwartz.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will remain private.
