Annette Myers, age 86, of Curtice, Ohio passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 10. She was born in 1926, the youngest of three girls to Fred and Anna Keifer. She married Bernard Myers in 1954 and they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary next month.
Annette worked for many years at Riverside Hospital in the billing department. She loved working with numbers, which kept her mind sharp as a tack, right to the end. She was involved with Eastern Stars in Genoa, Ohio, for many years. She recounted many a story of the good times with the people she met at Eastern Stars. They were all dear and cherished friends and a very important part of her life. Throughout her life, and particularly after her retirement, Annette was very busy with all her activities and hobbies including square dancing, playing the piano and organ, crocheting, fishing and playing euchre at the Oregon Senior Center.
Annette was also an avid story teller and poet. She wrote letters and poems throughout the years to her grandchildren, providing them with a collection of wonderful memories.
She embraced her relationship with the Lord and was a member of both St. John’s Lutheran Church, Williston, OH and Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Dorothy Smith and Doris Reeves. Annette is survived by her husband, Bernard Myers, two children, Kathy Myers of Sandy Springs, GA and Mark Myers of Curtice, OH; four grandchildren, Christopher Myers, Ashley Myers, Sasha Torri and Olivia Torri; childhood and best friend, Alice Wright; and many special nieces and nephews including Janice Rogers, Jerry Nichols, Bob Smith and Ruth Reed, all of whom provided her with love, support and comfort these past few months.

Friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 11-1p.m. where services will be held at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.  The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that remembrances be made to the Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Williston, OH., or Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio.

The family would like to express deep and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of DaVita, Northwood and St. Charles Hospital for their friendship, love, support and gentle care.
