On Thursday, January 8, 2015 Anita M. Lyzan was called home peacefully to her loving husband, Ted. She was born on September 25, 1920 in Toledo to Frank and Mae Schlegel. Anita was a 1938 graduate of Waite High School and was active in the Purple & Gold Society. She loved spending time at the East Toledo Senior Center with her husband, Ted. Anita was especially proud to be one of the founding members of T.O.P.S. #163 with her best friend, Natalie Shrader. She was an avid crocheter, making afghans and doilies for friends and family. Anita was a great cook and enjoyed her many years catering weddings.
Anita is survived by her children: Linda (Chuck) Rayburn, Paul (Darla) Hullinger, Bob Hullinger, Frank (Laurie) Hullinger and Jim Hullinger; grandchildren, Mike Grimes, Tammy (Jeff) Sellers, Susan, Paul, Patty, Brian, Steven and Frank Hullinger; 8 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Frank Schlegel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted and siblings, Charles, Arlene and Marilyn.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, from 11-1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Toledo Senior Center or Heartland Hospice.
