Alice J. Janick, 75, of Northwood, passed away at Parkcliff Community in Northwood on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She was born in Toledo on May 24, 1937, to Claude and Alice (Tobias) Snyder. Alice spent many years serving the church. She volunteered her time teaching Sunday school and serving on various L.C.A. and L.C.W. committees. Alice was the Director of Christian Education at Holy Trinity, First English of Toledo as well as St. Mark’s in Bowling Green. She became a certified A.I.M. in 1989 and obtained her B.A. in Religious Studies at Lourdes Collage in 1990. Alice continued her service to various churches throughout northwest Ohio. She loved to bake and would whip up a loaf of homemade bread in no time. Alice also loved to sew, quilt and made beautiful wall hangings. Out of all her many talents the greatest were her love and generosity.
She is survived by her husband, of 51 years, Edward J. Janick; children, Catherine (Bryan), John; step-children, Peggy Day and Edward L. (Catharine); grandchildren, Tina (Shane), Chuck (Helena), Jeremy and Nathan; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gene (Claire), Janet, Joyce (Harold), Gary, Noel and Judy (Edgar); along with many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Claude and Jim.
Friends and family may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, OH on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Grelton Cemetery, Napoleon.
