Alfred “Al” G. DeLong, 77, of Toledo, OH passed on July 10, 2015. He was born on June 26, 1938 to Orvall and Margaret (Haller) DeLong in Muncie, IN. Al served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at National Canvas and later retired from Jeep after many years there. Al was a member of the Jerusalem Twp. Fire Dept.and the Cooley Canal Yacht Club. When he could, he enjoyed bowling and looked forward to his trips to Vegas. Al could be found every day at noon at Don’s Donuts with his friend Tim.
Al is survived by his brother, Harold (Carolyn) DeLong; nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Joseph, Tammy, Susan and Teresa. He is also survived by a large extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Hitts.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 11 - 1 p.m. where the memorial service and veterans ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
