Al M Luna Jr

Al M. Luna, Jr., age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo where he resided for the past several years.  Al was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on February 4, 1935 to Carmen  and Al M. Luna, Sr. He married his wife, Norma Jean, on December 18, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio.  They celebrated over 54 years together.

Al worked for Libbey Glass, Division of OI, for over thirty years as a ware handler, machine operator and machine specialist.  His expertise as a machine specialist was utilized by Libbey Glass and affiliates in the United States and overseas.
Al was especially fond of children and animals.  It spoke of his tender heart.  The enjoyment Al got from the sport of hunting and fishing began as a young boy in Tennessee.  He also followed several sports teams.  Al was an avid Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves baseball fan.  He was also a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Volunteer College football team.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Evelyn and Sarah and brother, Coy.  Al is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; son, Al M. Luna III (Tami); daughters, Kelley Abrahamowicz (Dan), Kerry Prater (Dan); stepdaughters, Janis Wamer and Linda Kuehn; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and his brother, Jim Luna (Mary Lou) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Lutheran Home Chapel, 2519 Seaman Street, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, August 25th at 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers consider a donation to Odyssey Hospice.
