Adrian Garcia, Jr.

July 18, 1956 — January 25, 2021

Sylvania, Ohio

Adrian Garcia, Jr., 64, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021.  He was born July 18, 1956 to Adrian, Sr. and Josephine (Algarin) Garcia in Mount Holly, NJ.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A multifaceted entrepreneur in life. He traveled the Hispanic music scene in Toledo as a D.J. well known amongst them as El Nuevo Sonido. His passion for music and being a business owner led him to eventually open a CD & Tapes store under his D.J. name in the 90s. This all led to his ultimate business venture as the owner of Silver Cab of Ohio INC.

He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, such a fan that he named his dog after their quarterback, Ben. Football was so much fun to watch with him on Sundays, but even before that, for decades he was a fan of the WWE and would watch every event on a weekly basis.

He also enjoyed firing up his CB radio and broadcasting his persona “Wolfman Jack" across the airwaves. What we wouldn’t give to hear him howl one last time.

Covered in tattoos from head to foot, he displayed his passions and what he loved the most on his flesh for all to see the things he was the proudest of.

We are blessed to now have him watching over us, especially his wife Doris while singing to her “I just called to say I love you" by Stevie Wonder one last time.

Adrian is survived by his wife, Doris Garcia, his children Jose Vargas, Juan Vargas, Leonard Vargas, Chesrae and Christine Garcia, Miguel and Yesenia Garcia, Klarissa and Tony Blake; his stepchildren Jose Ramos and Andrea and Marc Byers and 20+ grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Garcia, aunts and uncles in Puerto Rico, his father and mother-in-law as well as two sisters-in-law and a nephew.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon, on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
