Charles Paul DeMuth, age 84, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Heartland of Oregon. He was born on May 24, 1930 in Seneca County, Ohio to Chester and Mana (Sutphin) DeMuth. Charles worked as a Train Dispatcher for the rail road for 42 years until retiring in 1992. In his spare time Charles enjoyed playing any game, except Bridge, and was an expert Euchre player. He was a member of Mont Pelier Eagles Post, coached basketball and baseball. Charles loved the outdoors particularly hunting and fishing. He golfed making a hole in one in his retirement. He was a Browns Booster that came second to anything involving his team Ohio State. His greatest love was his family and among his grandchildren was known affectionately as “Goofy Grandpa.”
He is survived by his loving wife, of 60 years, Beverly (Nagle) DeMuth; children, Daniel (Lauri) DeMuth Sr., DeDe (Terry) Ruedy, Diana (Tim) Durbin, Derek DeMuth and Donna (Fred) Smith; grandchildren, John (Jennifer), Danny (Jen), Michael (Nikki), Sarah, Deanna, Ashley, David, Megan and Dustin; great-granddaughter, Ariana and siblings, Clark and Janet. Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 12-2 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. that day. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the donor’s choice.
